Why was myNeuro born?
Our founder was dissatisfied with the quality of care and rehabilitation available to neurological and ageing patients at home, especially following their discharge from hospital. We believed it was crucial to raise these standards to ensure the best possible recovery and quality of life, something every patient truly deserves. And that’s why myNeuro was born, supporting you with your activities of daily living with our carers, and also rehabilitating you to become as independent as possible with our clinicians.
About The Founder
Abhishek Parekh
Doctor of Physiotherapy | Bachelor of Biomedicine
Our founder, Abhishek Parekh, is a Doctor of Physiotherapy, who brings a unique perspective to neurological care and rehabilitation. Before becoming a clinician, he worked as a personal carer for neurological patients, giving him valuable insight into the challenges patients face at home. This background shaped the myNeuro approach to rehabilitation, which focuses on making you more independent in your activities of daily living, and achieving your personalised goals.
Abhishek draws from his experiences at leading hospitals, including Austin, Monash and Cabrini, across specialised wards such as Neurology, Intensive Care, Cardiorespiratory, and Geriatrics. This diverse and unique clinical background allows myNeuro to address its care and rehabilitation from multiple perspectives, ensuring that each of your individual needs can be comprehensively met. As a further distinction, Abhishek has published studies in clinical journals and presented at inter-state conferences, so you can trust that your rehabilitation is at the forefront of evidence-based research.
